“Respond to a person’s kindness to oneself by being kind to someone else”
Many of you may have probably seen the film ‘Pay It Forward’, it is a story about a young boy who did 3 good deeds for others that were in need. All he wanted in return is for those people to pass on a good deed to 3 other people to keep the cycle going.
I know one good deed might not sound like much, but if you think about it, if everyone did something nice for someone else, then the cycle of kindness can help us all be better people.
So, what am I asking you to do?
Try to do three good deeds for others without asking for anything in return, except that they ‘pay it forward’ to someone else.
Let’s do some maths; If you pay it forward to 3 people today, and they then pay it forward to 3 more and then again – just in that small amount of time that is 27 people who, no doubt, are having a better day or even week from the good deed you did.
The difference we can make to someone else’s day is remarkable.
To help you on your way here are a few ideas to pay it forward:
Simply, Smile at someone in the street
Pay a compliment to someone
Make someone a cup of tea
Open the door for someone
Help someone in difficulty
Now you are armed with the power of kindness…let’s go!
